I.D. Systems to Deploy Wireless Industrial Vehicle Management Technology for Leading Global Automotive Manufacturer in UK

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Nov. 12, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- I.D. Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:IDSY), a leading provider of wireless M2M solutions for securing, tracking and managing high-value enterprise assets, has received a series of purchase orders from a strategic partner to deploy I.D. Systems' PowerFleet™ Vehicle Management System (VMS) on fleets of industrial trucks at three BMW Group (XETRA:BMW) automotive manufacturing plants in the United Kingdom. The strategic partner is the U.K. branch of one of the world's largest manufacturers of industrial trucks. I.D. Systems' subsidiary, I.D. Systems (UK) Ltd., was also instrumental in securing the orders.

"We are very pleased to add the BMW Group as an end-user of our wireless technology, joining many other world-class automotive manufacturers in our customer base," said Jeffrey Jagid, I.D. Systems chairman and CEO. "Our wireless vehicle management systems are a best practice for industrial safety management, material handling efficiency, and supply chain cost control, which drives significant economic and qualitative benefits for our customers. The PowerFleet system not only provides a unique set of functions, like patented impact management technology, it also satisfied BMW's stringent Wi-Fi and network security requirements."

About Vehicle Management Systems (VMS)

A wireless VMS helps improve workplace safety and security by restricting vehicle access to trained, authorized operators, providing electronic vehicle inspection checklists, and managing vehicle impacts. A wireless VMS also helps reduce industrial fleet maintenance costs by automatically uploading vehicle data, reporting vehicle problems electronically, scheduling maintenance according to actual vehicle usage rather than by calendar or manual data entry, and helping determine the optimal economic time to replace equipment. In addition, a wireless VMS helps improve material handling productivity by establishing accountability for the use of equipment, ensuring equipment is in the proper place at the right time, and providing unique fleet utilization metrics.
